Nate Edmondson

Nate Edmondson is an international, multi-award-winning composer, lyricist, sound designer, and producer for stage and screen, based in New York. His scores have been heard across the world, including multiple Broadway, Off-Broadway and West End runs of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show, Sesame Street the Musical, Paddington Gets in a Jam, Peter Rabbit, That Golden Girls Show!, and Disney’s Winnie the Pooh: The Musical (Rockefeller Studios).

Originally from Australia, Nate has worked on many critically acclaimed productions with Australia’s premier theatre companies, including; The Harp in the South, Blackie Blackie Brown, Cloud Nine, Three Sisters, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet (Sydney Theatre Company); Mark Colvin’s Kidney, Mortido, Seventeen, This Heaven (Belvoir Theatre); The Tempest, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, The Winter’s Tale (Bell Shakespeare); Wicked Sisters, Dead Cat Bounce, Good Cook. Friendly. Clean., MinusOneSister, Caress/Ache, The Witches, Music, Jump for Jordan, Rust and Bone, This Year’s Ashes (Griffin Theatre Company); Possum Magic, Edward the Emu (Monkey Baa Theatre Company); Honour, Fully Committed, Baby Doll, Diplomacy (Ensemble Theatre); Blackie Blackie Brown, Salomé, Lord of the Flies (Malthouse Theatre Company); H.M.S. Nate was awarded the 2016 and 2015 Sydney Theatre Award for Best Score & SoundDesign; 2024, 2020, 2018 and 2016 Broadway World Awards for Best Score / SoundDesign of a Play; the 2014 Brian Dyer Award for Best Score / Sound Design [UK] (All My Sons). In 2019, Nate was nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best Sound Design for his work on The Harp in the South.

Nate is an alumnus of Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).
