Dames Long tripped and fell into stage management in 2013. Graduating from WAAPA in 2018, with a Bachelor in Production and Design - Stage and Production Management, Dames has worked in various production, staging and logistics positions with Drew Anthony Creative, Acting Consulting Training Australia, Perth International Burlesque Festival, Joondalup Festival, Assembly Festival Edinburgh and Perth International Cabaret Festival.
Dames has a special interest in spiegeltents, has visited spiegeltents all over the world, met and worked with the multi-generational families who own and build them, and is a hobbyist researcher of spiegeltent history. His annual highlight is stage managing De Parel van Vuren Spiegeltent for Perth Fringe World every season since 2019.'
